My complaints are:
1. It's too small (my fault)
2. There is a recess at the bottom that makes it difficult to clean if a bag isn't used.
3. If a bag is used, the lid seal tends to push the bag into the pail.There is no built-in way to secure the bag if it laps over the rim -- a very big rubber band wrapped around the lip will work, but is inconvenient and unsightly.(One could close the top of the bag with each use, but that would make using the pail an inconvenient two-handed operation.)
4. The lid inserts far enough into the pail to pick up adhering debris (e.g. coffee grounds), which find their way to the counter top at the next use.
