I purchased two boxes of this sandalwood after reading a high-praise review at a refutable online site. The box is beautiful. The sticks are almost black, burn very clean, and leave a very fine white ash.The smoke is subtle, light, and inoffensive; however, I was disappointed to find the fragrance of the Byakudan Shirayuki sandalwood very much resembles the Koh Tendan sandlewood by Nippon Kodo. This disappoints me, not because the Koh Tendan is bad incense (in fact I love it), but because the Byakudan Shirayuki is so much more expensive (at least four times as much). The Byakudan is an incense I might buy as a gift for a sandalwood lover, but for practical use, I'm sticking with the Koh Tendan.
