(More customer reviews)I picked this shovel because of the aluminum blade; I don't like the cheap plastic stuff, and the steel bladed shovels of this width are just too heavy. The braces give extra support to the blade, although they are welded to the handle instead of being bolted. The steel wear strip is a must for durability, but I've found that even these will wear through after a few years of scraping along the asphalt. I searched a lot of places including all the local hardware stores, and this shovel was much better than anything I could find locally. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a serious snow pusher.
