(More customer reviews)Five months after receiving this snow shovel and in nearly 90 degree heat, I am finally writing this review.
For starters, I see that this Erapro P-2ME has increased in price by 28%since I made my purchase (between 2/10 and 7/10). Perhaps the cost increase accounts for the size of the box in which it is shipped, and amazon realizing that shipping such a gigantic thing was losing money. If you are into "green," this thing will make you feel guilty when it arrives on your doorstep in a box that resembles what bicycles are packed in.Yet, this packaging comment is only for your information and does not influence the number of stars in this review. The stars are about the shovel's quality and performance.
The review:
This Erapro P-2ME is well-made in Canada, exactly as you might expect from our north-of-the-border friends.Yet, the ribs that are cast into the "business end" of this snow shovel (with the intention of stiffening), are only semi-effective.If the snow is crusted or heavy, as is often the case south of the Mason-Dixon Line where I live, then there is a good bit of flex in this thing when attempting to penetrate the snow. This flexing is frustrating and robs energy from the user. If the snow is relatively loose and dry, this thing works like a charm. During the very snowy Winter of 2010, we had both kinds of snow. If you are a Southern snow shoveler, then 3 to 3 1/2 stars would be about right. This 4 star rating is upgraded from the Southern experience to include the entire USA.
Based upon the kind of snow that is prevalent where you live, you be the judge.
