They did the job - very well, and didn't give out like our plastic and aluminum shovel did previously.Sturdy construction, smooth wood that didn't give me a bunch of splinters, even when not using gloves.Lightweight enough for most anyone to use, well constructed, it'll last you a number of seasons.
